Arrowroot Powder



Very ordinarily used in the olden times, the new generation is not much aware of Arrowroot and its medicinal properties. A newborn child is first given breastmilk, and the next food item that is generally given is arrowroot porridge. This itself indicates how rich in nutrients arrowroot is.

Arrowroot is digested easily and hence can be used by children, aged people, and patients alike.



Rasam - Madhuram

Veeryam (potency) - Sheetham

Vipakam (taste after digestion) - Madhuram

Gunam - Laghu (light), Snigdham

Part that is used - root

Reduces Vatham and Pittam

Dosage - 10 to 15 grams


Rich in vitamin C, b6, magnesium, sodium, potassium and iron, arrowroot has no cholesterol.

Arrow root cools down the body and strengthens it. It also helps avoid various diseases. The root can be stored in powdered form after drying it.


Use


  • Daily consumption of arrowroot porridge in milk gives strength and coolness to the body.

  • Urinary tract infections, burning, and difficulty urinating can be relieved by taking 5 g of arrowroot powder in a little milk.

  • Boil 5 gm arrowroot powder in a glass of water and drink it to eliminate indigestion and acidity.

  • Relieves liver diseases, excessive bleeding during menstruation, and bleeding disorders.

  • It is also useful in giving relief to anaemia, respiratory and gastrointestinal diseases.

  • It is gluten-free and can be used by diabetics.
